How is learning "enriched" in the Enriched Program?

Students in Enriched classes work at a slightly accelerated pace.  By moving through the curriculum at a faster pace, classes have more time for enrichment activities, allowing students the opportunity to explore themes and topics in greater detail.  Students are expected to be more autonomous.  Though they shoulder more responsibility, this allows the students to have more freedom and ownership of their learning.

Enrichment activities typically include open-ended and creative projects, exploration of theories and content that go beyond the standard curriculum.  At the senior level, there is a greater emphasis on post-secondary academic skills such as research and collaboration.

*In order to be admitted into the Grade 7 Enriched Program, an entrance exam must be written prior to entrance. Exam information will be provided to students by their elementary school, and will be posted on Mac's website and the school board website once dates and times are confirmed.
